Widows & Watoto is a nonprofit, nonreligious, nongovernmental organization supporting single mothers and their children in Tanzania. The biggest part of the funds is used for education of children and youth, other parts for medical care and starting capitals enabling the woman to start or expand a profitable business.
We want to ensure that as much of your donation as possible reaches the families in Tanzania and is not eaten up by transfer fees. (su)*

For donations outside of Germany , we recommend using PayPal, as the PayPal fees (35 cents and 1.5% of the donation amount) are lower than bank transfer fees.
For donations from inside of Germany we recommend bank transfers in order to minimize fees
Sponsor a child
As part of our project, we support families who cannot afford school fees. A detailed breakdown of individual costs for state schools, private schools, and boarding schools can be found on our website. Prices for courses at the state vocational school (VETA college) and the Tropical Centre Institute vary considerably and can be found directly with the individual children and young people. If your course information is not yet available on the website and you are interested in sponsoring a child, please feel free to inquire.
Donations with designated use
You can make a donation with a special purpose. If you don't specify a dedicated use, your donation will be used where it is most needed.
Commodity contributions
You can support us with commodities as well. We are flying from Germany to Tanzania every year and can transport materials donations in our suitcases.
