Noela.jpg

Noela

Born 2009

Noela (17 years old as of 2026) has just successfully completed her 11th-grade (Form 4) exams (as of 2026). She is a friendly, intelligent girl and dreams of becoming a doctor. After the untimely death of her father in September 2018, her mother, Beatrice, could no longer afford the expensive private school. However, thanks to the support of Daniel and Grace, Noela was able to continue her schooling from 2019 to 2021. Since 2022, she and her brother, Daniel, have been attending a private boarding school (Mariado School). Unfortunately, we are dissatisfied with the school (too little food, too few teachers), and Noela will be transferring to a public school next year.

In order for Noela to realize her dream, we urgently need a godmother or sponsor who will cover her school costs.

Costs for Noela's private school (estimated per year):

  • School fees: 2,310,000 TSh (approximately €760)

Dismas.jpg

Dismas

Born 2003/2004

Dismas (approximately 19–20 years old) is Maria's eldest son. He completed secondary school up to Form 4 (11th grade). Afterward, he lived with friends, had no stable job, and wasn't sure what he wanted to do with his life. He needs a fresh start—either vocational training (e.g., in a trade, technology, or small business) or support in building his own small business so he can support himself in the long term.

We are looking for a sponsor for Dismas who will enable him to make this fresh start.

Jenipha

Born 2012

Jennifer (14 years old – as of 2026) is Elizabeth's daughter. Her father died in 2013, and since then she has lived alone with her mother. Jennifer attends a state primary school – there are no tuition fees, but there are other costs such as food, security, water, electricity, uniform, notebooks, and a bag.

Jennifer is bright and did very well in primary school (ranked 14th out of 128 in third grade). She finished primary school with good results and is now in ninth grade (secondary school) at Kaloleni Secondary School. She likes English and math. She used to want to be an English teacher, but now she wants to be a doctor. According to her teachers, however, she has difficulties with English, so she attends remedial classes.

We are looking for a sponsor to help with Jennifer's school expenses.

  • School lunch: approx. 140,000 TSh

  • Remedial classes: approx. 100,000 TSh

Caren, 13 years old (as of 2026), is Maria's daughter. She started school in 2019 and initially attended a state school. She is a bright girl and was very fortunate to find sponsors through Veronika for 2020. Since then, she has been able to attend the excellent private Goodwill School, which is within walking distance.

Caren has now successfully completed primary school at Goodwill School with a Standard 7. She was the best in her school – and we are incredibly proud of her! Her biggest wish for the future is to become a doctor.

We are looking for a sponsor for Caren for her further schooling (Secondary School).

Rashidi

Born approx. 2005

Rashidi (21 years old – as of 2026) is Fatuma's son. He graduated from primary school with good grades and later successfully completed his hotel management studies. He is currently doing an unpaid mandatory internship at the 5-star Gran Meliá Hotel in Arusha. He often lacks the money for the return trip after his late shifts.

Rashidi is motivated and wants to work in the hotel industry. He now needs support to complete the final phase of his internship and subsequently find a paid position.

Costs for Rashidi (based on 2025):

  • Travel expenses for the internship (12 late shifts per month): approx. 3,000–5,000 TSh per day

  • Monthly requirement: approx. 60,000 TSh (about €23)

Once Rashidi finds a paid job, he will be able to support himself.

Sponsor Majuma

Mwajuma

Born approx. 2000

Mwajuma (26 years old – as of 2026) is Christina's daughter. She attended secondary school and subsequently completed a hotel management course at Savanna Bridge College, where she now holds her certificate.

Despite having completed her training, Mwajuma is currently unemployed. She would like to start a small business to support herself. Unfortunately, we currently lack the resources to assist her.

We are looking for a sponsor for Mwajuma who will help her with start-up capital for a small business.

Required start-up capital for a business:

  • approx. 500,000 – 1,000,000 TSh (approx. 190 – 380 €)
(The exact amount depends on the type of business – e.g., selling food, second-hand clothing, or other goods.)

Sponsor Daudi

Daudi

Born approx. 2001

Daudi (25 years old – as of 2026) is Asha's son. He grew up with his mother and sisters in a very cramped one-room house. His greatest dream was to go to a boarding school so he could finally study in peace – thanks to a sponsor, he was able to make this dream come true.

Daudi attended Kisomachi Secondary School and later Mariado School. He is the first of "our children" to make it to university – and we are incredibly proud of him! He successfully completed his Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance at Mzumbe University.

Daudi is currently completing a paid internship and applying for a government job. He would like to pursue a master's degree later.

Daudi is a role model for many other children we support.

No financial support is currently needed – Daudi can manage on his own for the time being thanks to his internship.

Grace (21 years old – as of 2026) is the daughter of Asha and the younger sister of Daudi. She successfully completed primary school and was accepted into state secondary school. Thanks to a sponsor, she was able to continue her education.

Grace has completed her Form 6 (13th grade) exams. Her favorite subjects are geography and history, and she dreams of becoming a tour guide. She is also considering other fields of study, such as human resources, procurement, or law.

Grace is currently waiting for her exam results and is discussing her options after school with us. We are very proud of her journey!

No financial support is currently needed. Once she has decided on a course of study or vocational training, we will determine the costs and, if necessary, look for sponsors.

Daniel

DSC_0953.JPG

Born 2015/2016

Daniel is 10 years old (as of 2026) and is currently attending 4th grade (Standard 4) at the private boarding school Mariado School, together with his sister Noela. Originally, he had been supported by Ruth since January 2020 and attended an international public school, later the nearby Goodwill School. His behavior had worsened at a cheaper school but improved again at the good boarding school. However, since Mariado School no longer meets our standards (too little food, too few teachers), Daniel is supposed to switch to Goodwill School next year, which is only a few minutes' walk from his mother Beatrice's apartment. Since Beatrice is home more again, she can take better care of him.

So that Daniel can continue to attend a good school, we are also looking for a sponsor (godmother or godfather) for him.

Costs for Daniel's private school (Goodwill School, estimated per year):

School fees: approx. 1,098,000 TSh (360 Euro)

(Should he remain at Mariado School, the costs would be approx. 1,766,000 TSh or about 680 Euro.)

Gerald

Born approx. 2002

Gerald (24 years old – as of 2026) is Flora's son. He has lived with HIV since birth and, due to his weakened immune system, repeatedly suffers from serious health problems – including a fungal infection in the brain, which in 2019 led to a hospital stay of several months and a temporary coma.

Despite this serious illness, Gerald passed his Form 4 (Year 11) final exams and was subsequently accepted to a state school for Form 5 and Form 6 (high school). Because his family lives far outside of Arusha and there is no school nearby, he had to attend a boarding school.

Gerald successfully completed Form 6. He then volunteered at the Rombo Kilimanjaro School. He is currently looking for a permanent job or further training. The organization currently lacks the funds to continue supporting him.

No financial support is currently needed. Should Gerald decide to pursue university studies or vocational training, the costs will be determined and sponsors will be sought if necessary.

Brian

Born approx. 2008

Brian (18 years old – as of 2026) is Neema's son. He completed primary school and later attended Kimaseki Secondary School (a public school). In 2025, he completed Form 4 (11th grade).

Brian would like to join the military, but needs two more years of schooling (Form 5 and 6, i.e., high school). The association is therefore looking for a sponsor for Brian to enable him to attend high school.

Annual school costs for Brian (state school, based on actual payments from 2025):

  • Remedial classes: approx. 140,000 TSh

  • Lunch: approx. 150,000 TSh

  • Travel expenses: approx. 80,000 TSh

  • Hostel (boarding school): approx. 60,000 TSh

  • Uniform (repairs): approx. 30,000 TSh

  • Total: approx. 460,000 TSh (approx. €175)

If Brian attends upper secondary school at a different school, the costs may vary.

Innocent

Born approx. 2018

Innocent (8 years old – as of 2026) is the grandson of Neema (son of her deceased son John). He lived for a time with his mother and her new partner, where he was neglected and mistreated (no clothes, no food, no school fees). He now lives with his other grandmother.

Neema has to pay for Innocent's school fees, even though she herself barely has enough to live on. The association is therefore looking for a sponsor for Innocent to cover his school costs.

Annual school costs for Innocent (primary school, based on 2025):

  • School fees, materials, uniform: approx. 200,000 TSh (about €75)

Daniel

Alumni

Daniel

Born approx. 2003

Daniel joined a gang at a very young age. In second grade, he started skipping school and stealing. His mother was sued for damages she couldn't afford. Daniel received the traditional punishment of 70 lashes and promised never to steal again.

He wanted to go back to school, but only at a boarding school far away from his "friends." His mother couldn't find a sponsor. Daniel sold plastic bags in Arusha during the day. At his request, we found him a place in January 2017 at the Center for Street Children in Moshi (Langu la Malaika). There he lived with other boys, received food and care, and from March onwards attended a special school for older children without formal education (Memkwa).

Daniel's mother, Evaline, died in September 2017. All of the minor children were taken in by organizations. Daniel made great progress at Angels Gate.

The club no longer supports Daniel. We wish him all the best.

Loveness

Loveness

Born approx. 1999

Loveness (26 years old – as of 2026) is Mariam's daughter. She finished primary school (Standard 7) in 2012 and then stayed home to help her mother sell fruit. She attended a three-month English course and a cooking course at VETA College. She particularly enjoyed the cooking course.

On the advice of Evance Kessy, a local staff member of the association, she decided to take a one-year course in hotel management at the Tropical Centre Institute. She successfully completed her training.

She completed her training in February 2019 and subsequently began a three-month internship at a luxury hotel in Zanzibar. Afterwards, there was the prospect of a permanent position.

Loveness gave birth to a daughter named Avie (born around 2019/2020). Her hotel told her she could come back anytime she was ready.

The club no longer supports Loveness. We wish her and her daughter all the best for the future.

Benda

Benda

Born approx. 1991

Benda (35 years old – as of 2026) is Christina's eldest son. He graduated from primary school with good grades and was then allowed to attend state secondary school. Because his mother could not afford the costs, he had to drop out.

With support, Benda got his driver's license and completed an internship at a car repair shop. Later, he got a traineeship at a dog supply company (Matty Pet Food & Accessories), where he worked as a driver, salesperson, and trainer. After this position ended, he started selling second-hand clothing as a traveling salesman – for which he received start-up capital from the association.

Hawa

Hawa

Born approx. 1998

Hawa (28 years old – as of 2026) is Fatuma's daughter and Rashidi's older sister. After graduating from secondary school in 2015, she wanted to pursue her dream of becoming a tour guide – even though this is a male-dominated profession in Tanzania. She was supported in this endeavor by Veronika and Martin.

She completed her English course, got her driver's license, and later finished an apprenticeship in tourism and hotel management. She gained practical experience at a small safari company. However, due to the difficult situation in the tourism industry during the COVID-19 pandemic, she was unable to work there permanently. Later, she earned a living, among other things, by selling food in the city.

Hawa currently works as a waitress in a restaurant. However, her husband is unemployed, which makes the family's financial situation difficult. The couple has a young daughter named Naira, born in June 2023 (approximately 3 years old, as of 2026). The association no longer supports Hawa – she is now independent. We are happy that she has found her way and wish her and her family all the best for the future.
